This was a four night rally at Dark Sky RV Campground which is on the South side of hwy 89 east of Kanab, UT. When they say Dark Sky they mean it! The skies were very dark and you could see a lot of stars etc. Some members visited Best Friends Animal Sanctuary a few miles North of town and some visited the Coral Sands state park and Zion and Bryce National Parks which were not too far away.

The campground was quite nice and the staff were very accomodating and helpful. On thursday a dinner was provided by the staff conisting of two kinds of lasagna and a spicy chicken spaghetti dish as well as salad and bread and five different boxed wines. For dessert there was ice cream and if you wanted a float there was root beer. Everyone seemed to enjoy it all.

Some pictures from the rally here.

Julian was about 30 miles away so many visited there and indulged in apple pie and other delites. The resort is surrounded by a beautiful 9 hole golf course which was played by a number of us. We had a contest for the best decorated rig which was won by ??.

January 19-22 BLM Scadden Wash Quartzsite, AZ

This was an adventure in the desert. We found a nice spot in the Scadden Wash area of the desert just a little ways East of Quartzsite on the BLM land there. Quartzsite Camping in these areas is free for 14 days. The weather was reasonable for January though some rain came on Sunday and Monday, not enough to cause many problems. We had some dinners together and the usual gatherings around the fire pit. Some enjoyed Tyson Wells (basicly a swap meet) and found some badly needed items. The Big Tent opened on Saturday so everyone checked it out to see if there was anything that they didn't have and never knew they needed.

October 23-26, 2023 Coachella Lakes RV Resort Coachella, CA

This rally was held at a Resort that had just opened their RV area. The sites were large and well groomed and probably had never been occupied before us. We had a dinner at Sherman's Deli in Palm Desert one evening and most of us golfed in the miniture golf course they had. It was different from any course any of us had seen. It was all putting (18 holes) and the holes varied in length and difficulty. All of the holes had slopes that you were putting along and the whole thing was quite challanging. The park was nice but the area south of Palm Springs has grown a lot and has a lot of construction under way.

Here is the list of attendees:

• Gene & Debby Ienuso (Hosts)

Usery Park at night

Fifteen spots were reserved and all 15 spots were spoken for. We shared happy hour and heavy hors d'oeuvres on the first evening and, as usual, everyone outdid themselves with delicious treats. The hosts planned a picnic-type dinner another evening with subs, potatoe salad, chips, pickles and of course, ice cream. Following dinner we played a saran wrap ball game with lots of laughs and some silly-frustration. The weather was beautiful, the scenery spectacular and the friendships genuine.

February 20-24, 2023 - Pechanga Resort Casino Temecula, CA

Pechanga Casino RV Park

The rally at the Pechanga Casino RV Park was very successful in spite of extremely wet weather. The hosts, Wendy and Greg Otto unfortunately had to cancel and pass the baton to the co-hosts Linda and Ken. Kari and Dave were tapped as new co-hosts. Thanks to extremely good planning on Wendy and Greg’s part, the event went without a hitch. The golfers were only able to play nine holes, but had the unique experience of putting with hail on the green. We were fortunate to have a great clubhouse for our gatherings. Wendy and Greg planned a Fat Tuesday theme complete with decorations, costumes and food. Everyone had a great time..

January 11-15, 2023, - AJO Heights RV Park Ajo, AZ

Ajo Heights Welcome sign

This park was a small, but very friendly Park with only 39 sites. Eight Arizona Allegro rigs (15 members) attended this rally. The Park waived their usual pet restrictions to accomodate our club and because the weather was a bit chilly, we were allowed to use their recreation room for our cocktail and eating events.
Ajo is full of Arizona history that includes a large copper mine (now closed), museums and other interesting landmarks.

November 16-19, - (Wednesday-Saturday)(3 nights)- Distant Drums - Camp Verde, AZ

ANNUAL MEETING

De Anza Welcome sign

Like the first settlers that migrated into the Verde Valley in the early 1860's, our Allegro group migrated to Distant Drums RV resort for our Annual Members meeting -- 21 Tiffin coaches and 42 AZ Allegro members. This was a very fun event and we had a lot of opportunities to meet some members we hadn't seen in a while as well as a few new members and all the other frequent rally attendees. As usual, we shared lots of delicious meals and conversations. Following dinner on Friday night we held a meeting to vote on our revised bylaws and to select our officers for the 2023 season: President - Ray Trahan, VP & Wagonmaster - Wendy Otto, Secretary - Cathy Dessler and Treasurer - Bob Dressler. Norm Scherer is now serving as Past-President and, per our bylaws, will remain on the Board.

We had 21 coaches at this event and 41 members were included in our group photo (check out the photo on our Gallery page). I think one member was missing from the photo. We had great food and the area provided many sightseeing opportunities. The weather was cooler than usual, but it didn't spoil the fun.

Not too many photos received this month. I guess everyone was too busy having fun to take pictures. If you are reading this and have some photos from this trip that you would like to contribute, please send them to our webmaster. Here are a few photos from this event here.

October 16-20, 2022, - (Sunday - Thursday)(4 nights)- De Anza RV Resort, Amado, AZ

De Anza Welcome sign We had many hightlights on this trip that took us to Southern Arizona and near the town of Tubac, but one of the best features was the great Oktoberfest potluck featuring Brats, sauerkraut and red cabbage, provided by our hosts Hans and Birgit. The potluck also included chicken, provided by co-hosts Greg and Wendy. All the food and deserts were delicious. Prior to the potluck we were treated to a beer tasting event that included many types of German beers.
Hans and Birgit

The Tuboc area had lots of sightseeing opportunities that also include a nearby Titan Missle museum (a personal favorite!). And, as always, there were many, many restaurants to please our taste buds. Several club members took advantage of the Tubac Golf Course. I think we can say that a good time was had by all.

June 13-June 18, 2022 - (50th Anniversary)    Rock Springs, WY Bob Tiffing and Gabriele

Gabriele reported that the Rally was a huge success! Everyone loved it and the only slight negative was the weather which was 32 degs and monsoon winds! Or 88ish with the same winds! Also, she said,"I think a lot of people would have liked a few more vendors although there were a bunch. The entertainment was terrific as it usually is. Over 650 rigs and 1700 people! Bob (Tiffin) called it Tiffinville since the population of most of the town were less then we had there! 😊"
